# Homepage Analysis

Source: https://jonleverrier.com/tools/homepage-analysis

In that time they've already decided what your homepage says. I'll show you where that space is spent, and how it compares against a competitor.

## Who this for?

- **Founders and marketing leads** about to redesign, who want a baseline first
- **Teams stuck in homepage debates**, who need numbers rather than opinions
- **Agencies pitching a redesign**, who need evidence for the client
- **Anyone losing ground to a competitor** and unsure why

## What I measure

**Segments, using a best in breed segmentation model.** I capture your homepage at 1440px wide, top to bottom, and divide it into the parts a UX Designer or Information Architect would name:

- **Hero.** Your opening claim
- **Explainer.** You describing yourself
- **Promotion.** The ask, such as an offer or signup
- **Trust.** Proof from outside, like testimonials, logos and ratings
- **Routing.** Links into your content
- **Editorial.** Writing meant to be read, not clicked
- **Navigation, brand and footer**

Each segment is scored three ways: its share of the page, how much of it is filled rather than empty, and how much of the first screen it takes up.

## Brand & Performance Signals

This analysis also covers four things that **shape a great first impression**:

### Brand

- **Proposition.** Whether your first screen says what you do, and whether your calls to action are clear, consistent and within reach
- **Consistency.** Your typefaces and what they cost to load, and your colour palette, including colours people can't tell apart

### Performance

- **Speed.** Google PageSpeed and Core Web Vitals, against Google's thresholds
- **Weight.** Your page size against the median desktop page

## Benchmark a competitor (optional)

Measured the same way, side by side, with the gaps between you shown.

> Your homepage is the most valuable real estate on your website, so every area should serve a purpose and add value.

## How it works

1. Give me your homepage URL (and a competitor's, if you like)
2. I measure and segment it
3. **A free PDF** lands in your inbox **within 24 hours**

Take it to your team, so the next homepage debate starts from numbers.
